Creates a long point using a two-step sharpening process. Features a rubberized finish and German steel blades.

The Blackwing Two-Step Long Point Sharpener creates a long point using a two-step sharpening process. The first hole sharpens the wood and the second hole precisely sharpens the graphite core.

Each sharpener features a matte rubberized finish for added grip and German steel sharpening blades. The sharpener can hold three fresh sharpens before needing to be emptied, and is available in black, white or grey.

How do I use the Two Step Sharpener?

The Two Step Sharpener creates a long, straight point using a two step process. To create your point, insert the pencil into the hole labeled "1" and turn clockwise until the pencil spins freely. Then, insert the pencil into the hole labeled "2" and turn clockwise until the blade bites the wood.

My lead keeps breaking. What gives?

Broken lead is usually caused by one of two things: off-centered graphite or dull sharpener blades. If you're using a Blackwing, it's likely the latter. Try replacing your sharpener blades and see if that fixes the issue.

If your sharpener is brand new and not sharpening properly, try adjusting the screw tightness. A blade that is too tight or too loose may not sharpen precisely.
