Cardinal Pocket Perched on Live Edge Log
NORTHERN CARDINAL (CARDINALIS CARDINALIS)
Distinctive, vibrant red plumage - the Northern Cardinal is a National favourite. The Cardinal is associated with luck, loyalty, love and devotion. In many cultures, sightings of Cardinals signify a message from a loved-one that has passed away; the cheerful red bird radiating feelings of hope or joy to those they visit.
Cardinal makes a great present for a wedding, anniversary, valentines day or memorial gift. The bright red glass will stand out wherever you place him, be it on wood or glass table tops.
Your Cardinal will be handmade entirely from glass - no paints, glazes or moulds. The ornament shape is hand-cut with layers of coloured crushed glass built up on the clear shape before firing the bird is in a kiln over many hours. The red glass may be either translucent or semi-translucent (opal) depending on the batch. Please expect variation.
Each bird is initialed on their reverse. The bird comes with their own detachable log perch that has been sanded on the underside for stability. Simply slot the birds legs into the holes in the top side of the wood.

The Glass Bakery
About the Artist:
"The Glass Bakery Ltd. was established in Nova Scotia in 2010.
These unique studio-glass ornaments and decor have evolved from passion and excitement for the magic of wildlife and the relaxing and rejuvenating breath of nature. Beyond all, my designs were inspired by a life-shaping Belgian Shepherd who was the catalyst for not only the creation of The Glass Bakery, but in particular, for handcrafting of glass bird ornaments!
Following his loss, Nature's Therapy led to creating small glass bird ornaments. It's my hope that these birds will make other people smile too."
